COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (CAP)
Delivered in the East Kootenays by Steele O'Neil and Associates, Inc.
What is the purpose of the CAP program?
CAP is designed to help participants move forward and enhance their quality of life. We can assist you to become more connected to the community, improve your living situation, gain new skills, learn to cope with life's challenges, as well as assist you with possible changes to your status, identifying opportunities for education and training, volunteering... whatever success and a better quality of life will look like for you!
Who can participate in CAP?
MEIA Status could include Persons with Persistent Multiple Barriers (PPMB) clients, Expected to Work clients and Expected to Work - Medical Condition clients. Persons with a Disability (PWD) clients can also participate, only if the PES program is not appropriate.
How much time does the CAP program take?
The CAP Program is designed to meet each person's individual needs. Participants can be involved in the program for as long as a year. The "assessment phase", where we help you plan your goals for the program can take up to three months and participation in "individual services" can take six months or longer.
How do I get connected to CAP?
You might be referred by the Ministry or you can call us to arrange an appointment.
